Tasting Notes

A blend of carefully selected parcels of fruit from the Barossa, Clare and McLaren Vale. Expressive and fragrant, with divine toasty oak, earthy spices and subtle espresso notes. Concentrated layers of mulberry, blackcurrant and violets with a fine line of mineral slate and structural tannins, this wine has divine drive and volume. Delicious now or be rewarded by further cellaring.

Colour

Intense deep red with red hues.

Aroma

Expressive, fragrant, dark fruits and sweet earthy spices with toasty oak and some espresso notes.

Palate

Layered, dense, mulberry, blackcurrant, violet, pepper and mineral slate. The wine has drive and volume with fine, supple, structural tannins.

Food Match

Chargrilled aged rib-eye with crispy potatoes, charred spring onions and shallot-garlic butter or portobello mushroom steaks with avocado chimichurri

Winemaker Notes

Selected parcels of fruit were cold soaked and fermented on skins in open fermenters for twenty-one days before basket pressing. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and maturation in 100% new and second use French barriques for 18 months before blending and bottling.
